Tungsten:
Tungsten, also known as wolfram,is a element with symbol W and atomic number 74. most tungsten products is mainly used in electrical application,light bulb filaments and X-Ray tubes and superalloys.
Characteristics:
Tungsten ,of all metals in pure form, has the highest melting point,3422℃, lowest vapor pressure and highest tensile strength, lowest coefficient of thermal expansion. Tungsten is often brittle and hard to work. It is often worked by forging, drawing ,extruding and sintering.
Applications:
It is estimated that 50% of tungsten is consumed for manufacturing tungsten carbide, and the other rest used in alloys ,steels and pure tungsten products. Less than 8% is used in chemical compounds.
Pure Tungsten Products:
Pure Tungsten Products, like tungsten wire, tungsten plate, tungsten rod, tungsten filaments, tungstenm boats etc, is mainly used in electronicas, high temperature furnace, light industry, and welding industry.

Tungsten Tantalum Alloy
Tungsten tantalum alloy wire is an alloy containing nominally 90% tantalum and 9-11% tungsten with high density 16.90 g/cc. it has attractive high-temperature mechanical properties, high density, high strength, good toughness, strong stiffness and excellent corrosion resistance especially in acids, except hydrofluoric acid (HF acid).

Alloying with rhenium improves the ductility of tungsten and reduces the ductile-to-brittle transition temperature. Also, tungsten rhenium wires have greater electric resistance than pure tungsten wires. Additionally the tungsten rhenium wire have unique properties which vary with the rhenium content.

Tungsten wire is plated by gold because of its unique application. So as to protect the tungsten wire surface from corrosionor solder it to other metals.
